2 Stories/Sage Sayings/Video/& Poem..

Hi Folks,

Fiona was telling everyone at the party how her career change was going. She was now in her first year as a primary school teacher. But the stranger who came up to her didn't want to talk about that. She'd been pointed out to him by a relative and he wanted to say Thanks.

He talked about how much Fiona's late Dad, who had been his teacher had meant to him. Although it was many years ago, the man had never forgotten the examples of respect and kindness her Dad had set.

If ever she had any doubts about her career change, those belated thanks took care of them. Fiona knew she had a huge responsibility in helping shape all those young lives. She just hoped she could set half the example and be remembered half as fondly as Dad obviously was.

My old friend Mary got a surprise 'thank you' the other day - a quarter of a century after her good deed was done! When her son had been in primary school Mary had found a friend of his being bullied by a group of bigger boys. She chased them away and took the boy to her house to make sure he was OK before sending him home.

The boy didn't tell his Mum about the incident until ages later, by which time they'd moved away. Jobs and houses changed for both families over the years and the incident had faded from everyone's memory.

Or so it seemed, until Mary was approached by a woman she vaguely recognised. It was the boy's grateful mother, finally taking the chance to thank Mary for helping her son. The fact she still felt like that after all that time is testament to motherly love - and the glow it left Mary with, is tribute to the power of a thank you!

I was sent this wee video the other day by my Brother-in-Law and due to time I spent playing the Mario Brothers game years ago it brought back plenty of memories... Have a decco ! you probably don't know what the hay I'm talking about - I'm afraid your 'games' education has been sadly neglected .... OHHH ! the hours I spent playing that ruddy game.......

Tomorrow when you rise from bed
Let this thought be in your head
That throughout the whole long day
You'll be careful what you say
No angry words will pass your lips,
No grumbles, groans or tactless slips
If such rules you can embrace
You'll make your world a better place.
